Does the servicemans relief act prohibit collection of child support from overseas deployed personnel?

I am not a lawyer. I could not find any reference to child support in the Servicemen's Civil Relief Act of 1940. (Link #1, below.)

But I did find a reference (link #2, below) to a law (42 U.S.C. 搂 665; 32 C.F.R. Part 54) that provides for "mandatory allotments", i.e., pay withholding actions enforceable against active duty military pay for "a court or administrative order establishing a child support (or spousal and child support) obligation."

You should not consider this a legal opinion, just a warning to investigate further (perhaps with your unit's Legal Affairs Officer, if you are on active duty) before you assume that active duty status, even overseas, relieves a service member of child support obligations.
