Posted a formal complaint to a collection agency, & info was still put on my credit report?

Money owed was for carpet fees, renovated apt. to condo while I lived their (2 months of work) dirty work boots, ect... Fighting action with a lawer (maybe), but main concern is over the my credit report. If I pay partial, or even full amount can this be taken off? On Experian it says dispute is pending... Any advice? Thanks!

Well, if you pay them one single partial payment under law its like a pay promis becuase your giving money freely, a little hard to explain on this one. Anyhow, I dont know what to say on this, I would say you need to consistently stay on top of it, dont let the ball get away make your phone calls, document it, keep a journal of conversations had and then you will at least have paper trail. In regards to you credit more than likely it will be a blemish, I hate to say it, its life, and those agencies have one goal and that is getting the money. Good luck

make sure you report to all credit agencies, place a formal complaint with the BBB. remember you have to stay on it and keep disputing the charges.
