Will the Patriot Act help civil rights? If so, how? |
After all the Patriot Act is our government responding to 9/11. How can we as Americans protect ourselves from terrorist if the Patriot Act does not become permenant? The purpose of the Patriot Act is to take away our rights that were granted to us by the US Constitution and it's amendments. It is the most un-patriotic piece of legislation to ever pass through congress. The Patriotic Act is unconstitutional and one day will be taken to the US Supreme court and declared so. Patriot Act protects our liberties by making sure we have significantly fewer of them to worry about, while guaranteeing nothing. You think terrorists or any enemies say "Oooh, they have the Patriot Act now! Never miiiind!"? Report Abuse Surely the hundreds of terrorist attacks that occurred between sea and shining sea prior to the enactment of the Patriot Act, and the subsequent vanquishing of any sign of terrorist activity in this country, really ought to speak for itself. Depends if it intercepts terrorist cells operating in the United States or not. Since it has done this several times i am going ot say yes although i guess i will just have to keep my secrets to myself or in only face to face conversations. The Patriot Act is unpatriotic - it allows your government to spy on you and imprison you if you are not acting like a sheeple and they believe you are a threat toward their goals. Who cares? Civil rights is a bunch of anti white quotas and frivolous lawsuits. It should be done away with. it would make the world more like the half-life 2 world. you know with the combine guys everywhere. no. it will go against what our Founding Fathers would have wanted. It will help take them away. it is the responsibility of having the civil rights. it's necessary. |
