Do you think India need a common civil code?

Hindus have their own civil code and rights! Muslims have thier own code! Christians and so on. Is it rediculous? Muslim women still have no eaqual right on the inherited property of their parents...

Ideally yes. Hindus will not have any problems. Problems is with the Muslims. For them, their shariat is sacrosanct.

Whilst it would be easy to say yes at the outset, when one actually sits down and thinks about it one would say no.

The Indian constitution guarantees freedom of religion.

If you don't like anything in your religion, have the courage to walk out of it.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Make your own life.

I hope this helped.

YES. INDEED.
INDIA IS BADLY IN NEED OF COMMON CIVIL CODE. BUT NONE OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES, HAVE GUTS OR STRENGTH TO GO AHEAD AND IMPLEMENT IT.

normal man has no rights
all have been hijacked by politicians and bureaucrats

Of course.
