Can someone answer my question? |
if you were brought here illegally, but you had no choice cuz you were 3 years, now ur grown and your trying to get legallize and they tell you that you cant and you want to join the military ..............is that possible???....no offense to blk ppl but i feel like a blk guy back in slavery with no rights........at least they had their chance during the civil war. ... their option was to join the military for their freedom...(just speaking my mind).....seriously someone answer my question. The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, or DREAM Act, is part of the stalled package of proposals that many in Congress are seeking to resurrect. The proposal, applicable to an estimated 750,000 undocumented residents of military age, stipulates that those who arrived in the United States before age 16, graduated from high school, and meet other qualifications could immediately enter the path to citizenship in exchange for at least two years' service in the armed forces. Well your question is very unclear. As far as back to the civil war... slave trade had ended well before then so there were no 3 year olds who had come over and later joining the army for their freedom. Do you mean the revolutionary war? Because that was the case back then. The reason this was legal: At the time, the US techically did not exist. At this point the US were just a bunch of rebel colonies of Britian and therefore had no citizenship requirements. |
