Do you think it's right that Felons lose the right to vote?

Do you agree that felons should lose the right to vote? What if their charge is a non violent crime? If they do lose that right, should they still have to pay taxes, or should they be exempt as that is taxation without representation? Is this a violation of their civil liberties?

Wow - some rather harsh answers; I am talking about felons who have served the criminal sentence for their crime, and have rejoined society as contributing members. If that makes a difference...

i dont really understand the logic behind not letting felons vote if it were me id let every american vote count

Murderers, rapists, thieves, and overall dishonest people with felonies should not have the right to vote. How can we entrust our nation's future to a criminals vote? Point made. Yes, they should still contribute (by paying taxes) so that the good of the order will continue to be supported.

Yes. It doesn't matter. A crime is a crime is a crime.

We need to stop letting off non-violent crime such as white collar crime. That is violence of the financial kind. Ask anyone that's been swindled and not been able to recover.

Yes on everything except for the taxes. Why should someone who cannot follow the laws be allowed to choose those who make the laws? They should have to pay taxes, why benefit them for breaking the law?

Yes. Even for non-violent crime. And of course they should pay tax. And they forfeited their civil liberties, or do you really want them to be able to legally buy guns?

yes, yes, yes, no

yes, yes, yes, no

When you violate the LAW, you lose your LIBERTIES.
