Need to know if my husbands civil rights were violated, He is an African American working with all white peopl |
He has worked there for 5 years, and from the start has felt violated. In the beginning not so bad, managers would pass up all the employees sitting down during slow hours to aproach my husband who always stays busy to go clean trash up or change light bulbs, things that could have been done by another employee not busy doing there work, Now the little things have become huge, while working other employees sit around telling black jokes using the N word in his face, constantly talking about how dumb black people are, mind you a few of these individuals proudly show there tattoos with confederate flags and other racist artwork on there bodys, My husband has spoken with a few managers about the issues none of them are resolving anything one told him if things are that bad, quit, another stated he doesnt know how to fix it. There is 2 workers especially who continue to pick at him, they too have used the N word not directly to him but to a friend of his. No one has been repremanded yet. Yes, his rights have been violated based on the facts you have given us. Since he has already complained to management and they did nothing, he needs to file an EEOC complaint. The management solutions are legally unacceptable. His civil rights were, are and will be violated, until he takes his complaints to the proper authorities and has it straightened out. If his employers can't, or won't, do anything, they are part of the problem and should be considered eligible to have charges laid against them. Document these events. One call the the ACLU will fix this condition. Does he work for a corporation? If so, they are at risk for a lawsuit for the following: Do you have rock-hard proof of these allegations? If you do, go to human resources and file a discrimination complaint. No one should be doing this to anyone. It just isn't right. There should be no problem with taking this to the max. Being comfortable at work is essential to having a good day, and no one should shove their idiot ideas on anyone. It is a violation of law for the employer to not do anything about the obvious discrimination going on there. I would report it to the City's occupational license office. Call the world famous(ly racist) Rev Al Sharpton Paranoid. white people arnt the majority |
