How do civil rights provide Americans with certain rights that cannot be abused or taken away?

It's constitutional rights that can not be 'taken' away.

All other rights are 'granted' and therefore can be taken away.

Constitutional rights are recognized as God-given rights, - therefore man can't take them.

Such phrases as "animal rights" are utter non-sense. Not that they're bad, - but that they're mis-using the word 'rights'.

I don't think you mean civil rights, I think you mean the rights and liberties as of our Bill of Rights, and our Constitution?

Civil rights are protexted under the Constitution and can never be removed.Only way you can lose them is by you given them up

They don't. The people are afraid to fight for their rights and most of them have been taken away, leaving an illusion of freedom.
