Do illegal immigrants have Civil and Constitutional rights? |
I posted this question in "Immigration" and I do not believe I got a valid unswer. Can you help with a some how educated answer. Are illegal immigrants not human just like everyone else. Do they not deserve the same rights. There are certain privelages that we recieve as residents of the US. And more as citizens, that illegal immigrants do not get. To a point this is how it should be. But there are situations when the goverment acts unfairly towards those who, even though they are here illegaly, deserve the same rights that everyone else gets. For example, what about those people that have grown up here, not having legal status, speak the language, have gone to school here, but can not get financial aid because of their status. They had no choice to be here, there parents brought them since they were very young. Would they not deserve the same rights. And many people will answer, that they need to get their residency, however half of these people dont know the process to which you have to submit to even be considered for residency. Its not as simple as many people think, and often times you are still forced to leave the country while your application is being considered. I hope this makes sense, if not and your really intrested in more information, ask an immigration lawyer. They will be able to help with your questions. Did someone wait until the last minute to do their school paper? no how could have have rights, if they are illegally here.. they are not a citizen, they do not have our rights. Human rights only. And that is more than I would give them. very relevant question, i hope someone who knows will pass by I don't think it is "rights" per say. By definition 'illegal' indicates misconduct. dont think so No, they don't hold constitutional rights, such as voting and participating in legal stuff, but they always do have the three unalienable rights stated in our constitution; life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. They can not drive cars, (even though they do,) and can not get a credit card or bank account. Basically, they have human rights, but as far as citizen rights go, no. However, they can rent apartments for some reason. Some constitutional rights apply to those who are here permanently and legally, such as the right to vote. You cannot vote if you're not a citizen. Other constitutional rights apply to anyone. Surely you know that an illegal can exercise their right to assemble and their right to free speech. We surely saw that a few months back when they all marched and protested. liberals insist that our civil rights extend to everyone in the world. thats why your tax dollars go to law firms all over this country to represent terrorists in Gitmo. I am sorry you have gotten dozens of bad and wrong answers. no they do not, they are committing an illegal act by not going through the proper channels to be here. i have been at work and had people removed from the job because they were found to be illegal aliens, sorry but i can't really side with them on this. they come into this country using fake ids, many times stolen from someone who is a citizen, i have had friends who have had their social security numbers being used by someone who was illegal. my friend had a big mess trying to straighten it out because the person applied for and got credit and ran up thousands of dollars worth of merchandise before it was discovered, only to find that the person who stole her identity had moved home to Mexico, with all of the merchandise. |
