Can a defendant invoke his "5th amendment rights" during his testimony in a civil trial or deposition?

I'm not a barrister nor do I have any background in U.S. Law, but I am a plaintiff in a forthcoming civil trial, Thank you for your help.

In the US, the 5th amendment right applied to criminal charges only.
