Logic behind human rights? |
why do organisations like ammnest international support the rights of terrorists, murders, rapists etc? how and why should people who kill other pepole be given civil rights.when they cant respect the rights of innocent people why should their rights be respected?if u say we are a civil society were are; the rights of the victim to get justice.aren't human rights groups an extension of anti social groups? The upholding of the rights of criminals is the paradox of justice. Perhaps if people just adhered to the lex talionis we should not have so many ciminals and terrorists now. The lex talionis says "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." But some philosophers injected the idea that "The law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind." Yes you are so right! so we should be as bad as the terrorists, murders, rapists etc? I don't know, we're only doing the same kind of things to their people that they do to ours. Sounds fair to me. The reason why an individual resorts to the level of terrorism is not just to kill. These are all acts of desperation. When an individual feels that there is no more he/she can do he/she will resort to the lowest level to reach the satisfaction that is desired. Terrorists are often groups of people whose voices are ignored consistently, murder is a result of passion, anger, etc, rape is well, what it is. I think Amnesty is more about ensuring everyone is treated equally and all human rights are protected so we don't have terrorism for example. I highly doubt Amnesty condones any of those attrocious acts... Because in 1940's Germany the Jews were called murderers, rapists and economic terrorists, and it made it easier for society to turn their backs on them. Because we are humans and we live and govern by the rules, otherwise there will be chaos. Protecting the rights of the perpetrator doesnt mean forgetting the rights of the victim...there are proper ways and venues to get justice. Just put everything in the right perspective. That's why we are humans and not mere animals. The rights of the evil are protected in order for the rights of the good to be preserved. (The line for rights should never be drawn, as a tyrant can then move the line) |
