Laws Limiting the number of dogs in a household?

So i read that Georgia came out with a new law that there is only allowed to be 3 dogs in a house at a time. This is in response to the Michael Vick incident. Im curious to think if most people think it is a Valid law to have or if others like me believe it is a violation of your Civil rights. I believe as long as they are cared for properly and being taken care of it is a violation of civil rights. what do you all think

Obviously I am assuming that all dogs are well taken care of and healthy, not neglected or abused. Hey i cant blame them for saying hey we want to check and make sure your dogs are being taken care of i can understand that.

There are already enough laws on the books to protect animals and the neighbors of pet owners. This is a "preventative" law; one that punishes people who MIGHT neglect their animals....so much for innocent until proven guilty. Yes, it's a violation of your rights.

We have a "Kennel Law" in Louisiana, MO that states you can only have two pets in your household or you can pay $35 per year for any more than two. Around here, I think it's a good idea. It seems there are lots of people who do not take care of their animals. I just moved here in June and already have 2 stray cats and have seen numerous stray dogs and cats. It's pretty sickening.

I agree with you. The number of dogs one has should not be an issue and it should not matter. I believe as long as all or at least the majority of the dogs in the house are spayed, fed, happy, and healthy then the person should be able to keep as many as they can handle. I live in Canada, and there is really no limit unless you like in an apartment, complex, etc. but I do not believe in people with 50 un-neutered animals running around in an abandoned farm yard.

i think it is a valid law because even though it slightly inhibits YOUR civil rights, it protects the health and wellbeing of the DOGS, or atleast attempts to. doggies gotta have some rights now too, and most people cant properly care for more than three dogs. theres alot of pet restriction laws out there, most of them are fair. but if you want more dogs maybe get some sort of buisness liscence to run a kennel or somethin.
