A former Arlington County youth sports coach and civil rights lawyer who once headed Virginia's American Civil Liberties Union chapter was sentenced yesterday to seven years in federal prison for buying child pornography that prosecutors labeled sadistic and masochistic.

Charles Rust-Tierney, 51, pleaded guilty in June to downloading hundreds of pornographic images of children as young as 4. Authorities said he used a computer in his 11-year-old son's bedroom to view the files, which included a six-minute video that depicted sexual torture of children, set to a song by the rock band Nine Inch Nails.

Just another example in the already long list of reason the ACLU should be disbanned, it's members disbarred and put on trial for treason.

Just my opinion.

The ACLU is one of the most anti-American organizations in the country. It was created by (and for) Communists.

OH MY GOD! That is so sick and disgusting and tasteless. Who in their right mind would do such a thing to a child? Ugh I cannot fathom what perverted freak would subject a child to that kind of torment. Having to listen to Nine Inch Nails.

No. This is one example of a guy connected to the ACLU who did bad things. You could as easily ask if Congressman Mark Foley "explains why the Republican party doesn't care about the welfare of children." You'd be equally wrong.

The ACLU doesn't "support" kiddie perverts. It supports the law of the USA, even when the people involved are disgusting examples of humanity such as kiddie perverts. There is a difference.

That's what "Civil Liberty" means to them!
As long as you don't physically harm somebody, you are FREE to 'express' yourself.

I would dare speculate that the ACLU will be or already is a supporter of the Democratic party's presidential nominee to be... luckily this guy won't be voting anymore (not legally anyway).

Yes it does !it should be more comfortable for them when they go to prison they have paved the way for State and Federally funded sex change operations.They will be Heroes in the prison system,with all the rights they have gained for their fellow sex offending sicko's

That could explain why the ACLU has time and time again gone to court to "protect" the right of pedophiles to molest children.

There is no evil the ACLU won't support.. and no justice they won't oppose.
