Where and who to contact for investigating local government officals?

Need to find out who I should contact for help with investigate our local police department for corrupation, voitlating peoples constitutional rights, county jail for improper treatment to inmates and their civil rights. Any ideas would help!!

This is a difficult situation in that the local police cannot engage in practices without feeling confident that the community backs them, or the elected officials will ignore their mistreatment and civil rights violations. That there is a problem will be clear to most anyone. One person cannot accomplish much unless and until you can bring attention to the problem in a way that the community will feel outraged. Then action will happen toward cleaning up the mess. Don't be deterred. Start with small steps. Instead of generalities, begin to document each instance. After time, you then will be able to approach an attorney, or perhaps an honest politician who cares, who will look into the mess.

Internal affairs is usually the ones to investigate such problems depending on the evidence you have.
They are suppose to be the watch dogs over police corruption.
In the town I use to live in,....the F.B.I came in and fired several police officers and other officials for police brutallity and other types of corruption.
Good luck.
