Can you believe border patrol officers gets 7 -11 yrs for wounding a drug trafficking Illegal at the border? |
Border patrol officers Ramos and Compean are serving 11 and 12 years, respectively, after being convicted of assault, obstruction of justice and civil rights violations related to the wounding of Mexican drug-smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila. On Feb. 17, 2005, the agents chased Davila near the U.S.-Mexican border outside of El Paso, Texas, after Davila abandoned a van containing 743 pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of more than $1 million. ya that really is bull At first blush this does seem outrageous - but after a deeper reading, one discovers that the two agents knew they were violating the rules right from the get-go, AND, more importantly, they lied to their own supervisors, and covered up evidence, after it happened. they committed a crime. they must do the time. I really could care less about the guy they shot but they did commit a crime by covering it up and it sounds like they were part of a extortion ring by letting some dealers go and not others. I feel for them. There is no doubt in my mine that they where set up. I believe that one of their supervisor was having his drugs brought over the border by the guy that got caught. Otherwise, they wouldn't be in jail right now. rickin you need to do some real further investigation. No, I can not believe it. Yes, this is exactly right. Law enforcement agents in the US, whether city police or federal border guards, cannot indiscriminately shoot people. Society is entrusting them with guns, we expect that they will be used in a responsible manner. The fact that they are law enforcement and the other guy was an illegal drug trafficker doesn't make any difference. They need to be held accountable for what they did. |
