Why are white Americans so offended by racial issues raised by minorities?

From the British, to South Africa, India, to Slavery In America whites openly and freely mistreated, raped, abused, enslaved minorities and blacks and it continued until the civil rights act of 1964. This discrimination continued even after the British were thrown out of India and it continued while South Africa was under aparthied rule. Many places had "whites only" signs and blacks and minorities were discriminated against.
Why is that when a minority raises the question as to who is best to establish rules of fairness, justice and equality for the minority the white Americans cry it is segration and discriminatory and yet their racist ways continues to this very day. Why are the White Americans so offended when a minority feels it is in his best interest to establish laws of fairness, justice and equality?
Why is that minorities cannot set the laws and rules that help them best? Why do the whites feel it is discriminatory if minorities wanted to establish laws that serve them?

Exactly what do White Americans have to do with "British, to South Africa, India?"

The United States is a constitutional democracy meaning that our form of government will act to protect minority interests. Your own question cites the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

As an American I am offended by the current use of "diversity" as a weapon to exclude white males from higher education and employment.

Why do you think minorities should have the right to create laws that would only serve them? How would that be fair?

here we go again.

yawn ,is this a question or are you running for office
as always a little bit of facts and a lot of BS
Cynthia Mc is in trouble again here is the race card being played

The laws must serve everyone in order for any equality to take place...

You can't give someone more points because he/she is a minority....its not fair....

you really need to do your homework before asking such a loaded question, it is the same way from our eyes also...we can understand why your own people allow it to happen and then you have the audacity to say we get upset....look at yourself a little more closely...Don't generalize and say that "all white people are the same, that make you as bad as the people that perpetuate it....try again little more study work involved

I am not offended. I would say get out and vote, don't just sit there and blame the white man for all of your problems. BTW, you post sounds like you favor segregation, just to let you know.

I would love to know too. I have to say though that the civil right act and the end of colonisation did not bring an end to discrimination and slavery. The only difference is that the opressors are just that bit smarter and less overt about it! But my philosophy be the best you can be and don't have a victim mentality... or you'll be beat before you've even started.

Is racisim right hell no. But as long as minorities bring up race first they start it. My God people just go on with your lives. I dont mistreat anybody but queers I dont care what color you are. The Native Americans are the only ones who have a right to *****. All any color anything: colleges, clubs, groups, whatever is racisit. We have to live together or get the hell out. Be proud to be whatever color but dont throw it up because of your problems..that goes for white just as nmuch as blacks. Damn people.

If you want to set laws in favor of minorities, make sure you get out and vote for the people you want in charge of your well being. Whether in state, local, congress, or the white house. Don't just whine about it. Do something! And stop blaming whites on all your problems. Not all whites are like that. You are generalizing. That's like me saying all eggs come from the Easter Bunny. it's just not true!

America is founded on majority rule. Just like any fair voting process, the people who care enough to take their own time to go vote on an issue, get to have their opinion count. As to your statements about discrimination, you have discriminated against all white Americans by counting them in the same group with the same opinion. Not all white Americans have the same opinions. If you look at the faces of people who are marching against discrimination, you will see that some of those people are white.

Because you're so completely full of sh!t ont the subject. Before you start in about fairness, equality and justice, address 30 yrs of Affirmative Action., the release of OJ Simpson.

At the end of your question you call out for laws that serve you best. I call that racism and bigotry.

i am not offended at all i don't think minorities should get laws that help them at all they say they want to be treated the same then they want the upper hand that is not being treated the same at all

the thing about whites before civil rights acts. its called ethnocentrism look it up

then the thing about minorities not being wanted to make the rules is because they will in turn choose to help there own ppl b4 others not just whites

and black ppl are free now but they are enslaved in the democratic party because they dont realize how much democrats or liberals are destroying america but thats a different subject

basically black ppl vote for democrats who then raise the taxes on ppl not just whites and the taxpayers money goes to welfare
which the black ppl then take. My family went through a hard time and when we needed welfare we went to the building and my mother went in and saw she was the only white and the black ppl gave her bad looks (can u explain that?)

also this crap about reparations is pathetic. black ppl just want money for their ancestors suffering. white ppl and other races have been oppressed by other races but never have they demanded outrageous sums of money. (or at least when it was their ancestors who suffered not them)

for example the irish were oppressed by the english for a long time but do you see them demanding reparations? NO lol

basically idk what ur political viewpoints are but this whole rascist thing is just the looney liberal way of getting you to not think(liberals are in schools and colleges teaching just so you know) I had a teacher who said winston churchill was a crazy man and this teacher herself was british. the man invented the radar which helped protect britain from the germna luftwaffe in WW2.

well if you have another question
mustangspartan80@yahoo.com

if you dont believe anything I said then its cuz ur a liberal no offense but they dont listen to facts. also just watch when they run for 2008 they will play the race card saying conservatives are all rascist white christians and so on.

www.myspace.com/patriotic79 if you wanna learn more about politics and why you dont wanna be a liberal

later

The civil rights act of 1964 addressed voting/registration fees. The democratic polls turned down many black and minor voters, and polling fees were being charged. No kidding !

As a party, minorities won't set the laws. There has been african-american supreme court justice: Justice Thurgood Marshall. In turn, he could be considered as a symbol of minority; and a minority which established law. Actually, he could be considered a political minority in more than one way ! lol :) I'm just making lite of the fact, that he was the member of a group of 9 (the Justices), black community, sometimes he agreed with the other judges, other times he didn't. Sometimes he was hated, but most folks would agree that he did a pretty good job as Supreme Court Justice.

I suppose many whites burrow their minds with bias. That is--as a society the races and ethnic groups tend to not intermix. Communicatively segregated, its no wonder people look at you in a strange way. As time goes on life becomes a review of the past, and some new wanker wants to re-introduce a problem. Eventually leading to individual isolation thereto people burrowing their minds with bias. It's no different than when a white ascerts its devaluation ... is it ?

There is a very simple answer to your question, although not a 'PC' one.

White people are the most embarrassed when it comes to questions of racism because we are ashamed of how racist the history is of the white man.

It is impossible to look at history and not recognize just how horribly racist and abusive the white race is.

Who wants to face such ugliness?

So, when a minority insists on knowing just why white folks are so racist - guess what? Many of us like to ignore history and just act like the minority is just trying to make trouble where there isn't any.

I may not have expressed myself very well, but I hope you understand what I have attempted to say.

You are absolutely correct in your statement, but don't count on any white folks - other than me and some few like minded white folks - to buy into your truth.

And guess what? My great grandmother was a black Cherokee. Not everybody who claims to be white IS.

LOL

If blacks get to complain then I want to able to do it as well ~ I'm Irish & when my family came to the USA in 1847 to excape from the Irish Potato Famine, they where treated badly, under paid & discrimanated agaist by the English.

You right LOL Black peolpe should have reperations and own Tv channels and double standard to say racist remarks to whites in America and white can get back for that slavery hundreds of years to this day. You just prove the idea of separate but equale.

My nations and my people were enslaved by Nazis and Russians and we and fight more then 1000 years to survive and we move on and go to work get education and fight with opration by biying hard working and less bitchin. 11 000 000 million dead in 6 years.

Look who is calling the kettle black
