Question about housing discrimination? |
Would it be legal for a church in California (non-profit organization with IRS) to build a senior retirement home on its own property adjacent to the church and restrict it to its own members? Since it is a church, this would effectively restrict it to members of a particular religion. It probably can be done, but it depends on your legal documentation with the IRS and the state. Churches are generally allowed to offer services only to their members. yes they have that right just like someone has a right to make a senior citizens home. Or a single parents home. |
