Child Custody even if the mother is a minor? |
Ok so to start im a 17 year old mother. My mother died and i have been living in my apartment for 3 months on my own paying bills and rent in full. its a nice place not dirty or in a bad neighborhood at all. Yeah, I told him I was like your the adult im going to school working taking care of our son....why dont you get off your asss and come see him if you want to? Its stupid. He cannot get custody. In addition he should be paying child support. He could still be prosecuted for statutory rape for fathering your child. Please don't worry, he cannot get custody. If a man doesn't support a woman while she is pregnant or the child after it is born, courts have held that he has abandoned his child. Look into a Divorce lawyer (no really, they handle custody cases, so they are perfect). Since you were never married you automatically have full custody of your son. You have been the childs primary care taker since birth and you can financailly, physically and emotionally take care of your child. You don't have anything to worry about, no judge would take a child away from a responsible mother just because the dad all of a sudden decides to grow up Do you love your child enough to support him or her? If you do, you already have evidence of that. nuff said. Dad would have to prove that you are not a fit mother, to take baby away. Since you are supporting your child, WITHOUT CHILD SUPPORT, that tells a whole big story, doesn't it? |
