Can a Michigan child custody and support order be enforced in Georgia? |
Can a Court order from Michigan giving child custody and child support order be enforced if you move to the state of Georgia. I an my exgirfriedn used to live in michigan whe went to court and we were both awareded joint physical custody and a clause that said neither parent could move the child further than 100miles from the other without court approval or consent from the other parent. we have now since moved to Georgia and have been her for two years. The relationship has fallen apart and now she is trying to move back to michigan with our child. Is there anyway that Georgia can enforce the court order given by michigan? Of course. The Georgia case has to enforce the court order. Article IV section one of the US Constitution provides: Only thing to do is call the state and ask. There is usually more to it than meets the eye, and police do not enjoy getting in the middle of two parents both insisting they have this right, that is for the court to decide, which it has, and they will look at both of your behaviors and what is best for this child right now who has two parents that need to be arguing and enmeshed in drama, which is not good for children. Good luck and stay smart. Yes. Of course. Child support orders are universally enforced. Custody may take more doing; but still enforcable |
