Does anyone know any free legal services that can help me fill out paperwork?

My husband and I are going to the court house to file for "An emergency change of child custody" and for contempt of court charges against his ex-wife. We don't have it, financially to hire a lawyer so does anyone know of free law services that will help us fill out the needed paperwork? Or offer free legal advice?

Since your state is not included, I will not be able to give you the complete website. However, it will be enough to find the organizations website.

larc.??.org two letter abbreviation for your state goes where the question marks are.

Try local law schools in your area. Also, you court house may offer a service called lawyer of the day. During a certain day of the week a lawyer is available to help complete forms for free.

You can look for the Legal Aid office located in your state. Also, you can use the Lawyer Referral Service of (your state) Bar Association.

Depending what state you are located in, I am qualified to complete forms and give legal advice. I would be more than happy to assist you for free.

Best wishes.

Local Bar Association has lawyer's doing things like thatis for free

You can talk to the County District Attorney's office, let him advise you. If the child is in danger he would be my first choice, he has a lot of authority. If the mother lives in a different county, he may have to redirect you to the county where the child's permanent residence is.

In our state there is legal aid, I don't know about all states. The County District Attorney's office will know.

If the child's mother has committed a crime, or harmed the child you will most likely get positive results.

Good Luck To You
