As an ex-con (felony DUI) who would like to get married, can this affect my fiance's child custody rights? |
NO one was injured as a result of my felony DUI....Also, I was a respected member of the community prior to the conviction. Otherwise, I have no record. My fiance's ex has been chronically delinquent in child support and has rarely had visits with his son. Even so, we both feel he'll use my record to hurt his ex, because that's just the sort of fine human being he is. Any help, or suggestions on who to contact with this issue is much appreciated. you could by Adding your situation effect the positive outcome had she stood alone against her bad-half. Yes it can. And the child's father has every right to be concerned to the point of asking the court to limit your contact with the child in tranporting the child. It has nothing to do with her custody. You may have went to jail for a DUI but you didnt not hurt anyone. But the father being behind on his chil support has nothing to do with it . That is up to the courts to go after him. It is possible for the ex to request a change in custody orders, claiming that the child is in danger with you around. |
