How does the "Three Strikes Law" effect one with one prior conviction? |
My fiance' had one prior strike, and was convicted of armed robbery, which he didn't commit. The judge gave him two strikes for this one offense (I guess one for robbery and one for being armed) giving him a total of three and now he's serving a life sentence. Is this a good cause to appeal? Hes in deep now. His Lawyer should have struck the prior, made them prove and plead the priors as well as appealing and vacating his last plea deal. Hes in for a long time no matter how it goes. If he is serving a life sentence then the third strike is a mute point! |

I can't speak specifically for Texas, but usually the requirement for representation applies to corporations, not businesses. The distinction being that a sole proprietor can usually represen... when you show up for the appeal and the employer is not there on time ...ask for an immediate dismissal due to the employer not showing up .. they have to grant this !!!! The issues surroundi... Unless the witness have personal information of the final incident where you where recording the meeting they will not be allowed to testify, But your real issue lies in the fact that you do not... Go thru the process, hope for the best, job hunt and don't hold your breath on getting U/E. ...Naughty constable, chase and book him for a change! ...I think it depends on what state you are in, but at my company I am only allowed to say when you worked, when you left and would I be able to rehire you. Anything beyond that is opinion. They shou... unless there is big money involved, no one is going to be interested in financing your case. if you don't believe enough in your own case to hire needed experts, then why would anyone else?... What? The arbitrator is suing the defendant? ... |
