How can I appeal my employer's benefits decision? |
My medical and dental benefits were cancelled by my employer in error for two months. The only way I knew about it is because I tried to use them and was told they were cancelled. So for two pay periods the deduction was not happening. To me this makes sense since I am not getting benefits. Well I was told last Friday that my employer not only made a mistake but that they were going to make me pay those benefits back retroactive. I do not agree with this at all but at this time I have no say and they are taking them out. How can I appeal this? If you want to be covered retroactively, you need to pay you portion of the premiums retroactively. Talk to your boss or hr rep and tell them what you think. |
