Any sites with info on federal and/or New York state adoption laws and sick leave as it applies to maternity? |
A coworker of mine is having problems. She has to leave the country for a while because she is adopting. Our manager and institution are refusing to let her use her sick time with pay, instead they want her to use medical leave without pay. The facility we work at has no real plan or policy for adoption, but they do allow 30 hours of sick time pay to be used if you are/were pregnant and plan to use maternity leave. Cornell University Law School has a comprehensive site for looking up various statutes. http://www.law.cornell.edu/ yea look up the the Federal Family Leave Act all your info needed should be there. |
