Is adoption open to public records? What is a closed adoption? How long does it take to adopt?

I think closed adoption is when the biological parents are not allowed to contact the new family and child? Sorry i don't know the answers to the other 2 questions. Good luck.

it all depends how the people want it. If someone want to put a child up for adoption and have records seal then they are not opened to the public. a closed adoption can mean that the birth mother will not have anything to do with the baby. an opened adoption means that somehow whatever is agreed, the birth mother can be in the child life. if it is a private adoption that means that you have lawyer and you really are not going though the state it is done though private agencies. If you go though the state there is usually along waiting list. If you do it the private way there is usually quicker and the birth mother decides on the parent to adopt the baby after meeting with a list of family and usually they help out with medical expenses, clothing for the birth mother and some living expense while pregnant.

no it is not.it,s not public information.it can be to the one being adopted but,for others to get "public" view of the records the person adopted would have to be deceased. The kid that was adopted has to reach the age which varies state to state before they can even access the info in the files. Each state and Judge is different on the length of time required.
