Adoption versus abortion...? |
Before Roe versus Wade, before abortion was legal, between 1945 and 1973 (28 years) one and a half million babies were given up for unrelated adoptions. In 1973, when abortion became legal, until this year, 2007, one and a half million babies were aborted EVERY YEAR. That's 42 million murders. It took 28 years to kill one and a half million, and then murder became legal, and it killed 42 MILLION. What is everyone's take on this? And if there is anyone out there who has had an abortion, how do you feel about it now? i think it is sad that people are not willing to take care of their children , and i am a adoptive mom and plan on adopting again in a few years , i do feel abortion is murder b/c the unborn baby does have a heartbeat and that makes it a living , breathing being so that is murder, and i don't care if anyone judges what i say , i do have the right to feel this way and i think all children have a right to live but they cannot speak for themself and they need adults to speak for them Thanks mom of 4. Report It Adoption, if you don't want the baby, maybe someone else will. They can still grow up to be a good person. However, abortion is murder. Mercy killing isn't legal, so why should someone choose abortion? Also, the life that was taken, that child will never have a chance: to walk, to play, see the world. Never fall in love, have hopes or dreams... I would never have an abortion I view it simply as murder. Its sad that people can end a life without any repercussion. I agree with your stats. I think of a few of my friends who have been adopted, and if their biological mother would have aborted them, these people would have never had a chance at life, they would have never existed in my world. I would have never become their children's God Mom, I wouldn't of had their shoulders to cry on, and I would of never had their love. I think a better answer would be where would you put 1 1/2 million unwanted and unloved children per year.....Ahhh yes the already failing foster care system... because they are doing such a great job already with the children they have. Oh wait I guess that not every child would be lucky enough to be placed in the foster care system or up for adoption there would be those who lived in fear daily of drunkin, abusive parents or that ever so sweet drop off at a friend or relative's house for an "overnite" that lasted 3 weeks and lets not forget that fearful young mother who gives birth in the bathroom or closet smothers her child and throws him in the trash. What would you do to fix this problem? You cant sit up there and judge those who make choices you don't understand, your either part of the solution or part of the problem. Are you part of the solution? or do you just preach? First of all, saying that abortion is murder is your opinion, so please do not state that as if it were a fact. Not everyone shares your opinion, so calling it murder is just a tactic to appeal to emotion and try to make people who disagree with you look like criminals, which they are not. for every person out there saying abortion is murder, how many foster kids to you take in? is your home full of neglected children? if not, then you do not have room to speak. you can state your opinion, but it is just that an opinion. as an infertile woman and the mother of an adopted child, people just assume i'm against abortion. i'm against neglected children. children who grow up with no hope, children who have no guidance, no support. unless you're prepared to do something besides sit on your butt or protest and speak against abortion and make room for the 42 million children who never had to starve, feel lonely, be left alone or beaten, etc....then shut up. prove your word means something besides opening your mouth, provide assistance to help these mothers who choose abortion, provide counseling, financial assistance, rehab, etc....but that's not what happens you call it murder and sit behind your comp. you put pics of aborted fetuses on vans, trucks, billboards and bumper stickers on your car. what hurt me the most of being infertile was an add against abortion. it was a pic of an aborted fetus on the side of a van. a fetus of the same stage in pregnancy of where my child had been lost. did i sit on my rump and woe is me? did i stand in a line screaming at women trying to find info and make an informed decision? no i got up and went out into the real world and found the child that was meant to be mine. my own. am i glad her birthmother chose adoption over abortion, of course, i thank God for giving her the wisdome to know that the child she carried would live a wonderful life and place her in my arms. would i have condemed her for choosing abortion, no. |
