When looking for an attorney, what does modification mean? For example, the ad says, criminal, adoption, DUI,?

divorce, dui, adoption, modification? what does modification mean?

Usually it refers to post-divorce judgment modifications of custody and visitation or support (child or spousal). The ad should be more clear so he/she may not be the right lawyer for you.

Thats what they specialize in. You wouldn't want a tax attorney to represent you in a murder case.

modification is to get the court to change or modify an exisiting order, like adding a name change to a divorce after u have been to court.

They are probably referring to motions for modification of child support or alimony.
