Adoption Question Serious Answers Only Please? |
If a person has had a child since she was a few days old in foster care.Which the child is in the states custody but getting ready to be given back to it's mother And the mother decides she does not want this child and wants to give her rights up to this child and the mother wants the foster parents to have this child. If she gives up her rights and if the papers is signed is it wrong or illegal for the adopting parents to give a gift to this mother for the blessing of giving her child up to someone who cannot have children of their own. Would that be considered buying a child even though it's not buying the child technically? This is for Ohio Law. I was just wondering how that works due to the fact that there are children who needs good homes and it's sad that parents that don't want their kids and shouldn't have their kids back can't be rewarded from my understanding for doing the right thing and giving the child up to someone who deserves to be a parent to a child. I think you are already giving her a gift, by giving her child a loving home. I would just buy her flowers. Is it an open adoption? My daughter (former foster child) was adopted under those same circumstances, and it didn't occur to me to give the birth mom a gift, but my daughter does talk to her on the phone about once a month and just recently saw her. It is a wonderful thing! Oh, when my daughter saw her for the first time in a long time she took her violets, because she (the mom) now has a baby named Violet. Good luck and God Bless. No, its not wrong. Sometimes adopting parents will give even the pg mom $$$ to pay for housing, food etc. |
