Adoption question...? |
Anyone know how to go about adopting a child without the outrageous fees?Every organization I have dealt with requires approx. 20 thousand dollars in fees.. Is there a cheaper way or any kind of financial help individuals can receive? There are usually little or no fees when you adopt a child from the foster care system. You could contact your local agency. Kidnapping! find a pregnant teenager.. there's plenty of them around.. We are in the middle of an adoption ourselves...Yes it is really expensive... sure wish there was!!! I adopted 2 children through the state agency and paid only court costs, about $35 each, to file the adoption papers. I filed the paperwork myself so did not need a lawyer. the agency helped me word everything correctly so it was all legal. check with your Department of Children and Families to see if you can do it, too. good luck! Call some churches they helped my parents. Some of them have funds for that type of help. Foster/Adopt is a program that would not require the amount of money you are referring to. You would first need to qualify to be a foster parent, but there are tons of children in the program who need families, and you are able to adopt through the foster care program. You would want to call your local child services program for more information. |
