Question pertaining to adoption rights? |
My wife tried to access medical history of her birth parents, but the information is sealed by the courts. She was told( 5 years ago or so) , that she needed permission from them to access this. Why is this such a big deal, even if she didn't want any other info but that. The future of our family depends on it. Can anyone give any advice? Thanks for the info, but I don't buy the privacy bit....if it affects the child that was given up, that information should go with the child when adopted. We're not looking for names, just information that could be helpful to our situation. Just my opinion. Try the site below for research on this subject. Make sure to change the state in which you reside. Hope this helps. If there is a medical condition present, where a family history would help with diagnosis and treatment, and the medical condition is life-threatening, speak to a lawyer, have the lawyer file a motion, present your evidence, and the judge may unseal the records. |
