Is a step-parent adoption easy to do in Texas without a lawyer?

Just got married, and YES biological father has already terminated his rights over a year ago, so no obstacle there. New husband has been her only father ever...so I'm wondering if we can go about this process ourselves? If so, how? If not, then what exactly will an attorney need to help with that is too complicated to handle by ourselves? Any one know of a good attorney in North Dallas area?

Often there are companies called legal typing services that will prepare the paperwork at a reduced fee. See if there's a business like that in your area.

Also, call the department of children's services in your area and ask if they can help or offer suggestions.
