Child adoption? |
Anyone knows about this? I'm currently here with a student visa. My aunt, who is a citizen, wants to adopt me as her child.. If she claims my adoption, do I have to give up my student visa? What are the requirements for adoption? is it a difficult process? I am turning 17 end of this year.. is it still difficult? thanks. please help me asap. If the adoption is successful, you wouldn't NEED a student visa. The student visa is what allows you to be here. If you are adopted, you automatically become a citizen and no longer need the visa to be here. Ok first of all, I would assume you would have to give up your Visa. The process is kind of tedious..but call a charitable home study agency and they may be able to help you further. I've done an international adoption - not domestic. i think you are better off with Talk to a lawyer. Or look up one in a phone book and ask them. = ) |
