Grandparen'ts Rights Law...Somebody Please Help!!!? |
My mom is threatening to take me to court for visting of my daughter ( her granddaughter ), b/c I don't want her in my life or my child. She's a psycho to sum it up, she's married to an alcoholic and she didn't take care of her own kids. Now I googled the grandparents rights laws in my state, and here's what it said: She could go to court and ask a judge for rights to visit your kids. If you want to prevent that, or fight it if she makes such a request, you need to document why she should not see your kids. Every country and state has different laws, so you need to get some legal advice in plain english from child welfare. You have to prove your mother is a bad for your child. If it is the truth you can find things to prove your case. witness, any police reports, dig up the dirt you need proof for the courts to believe you. Then just sit back and wait for the day she tries to mess with you . You have to stay balanced at all times, this is very important , and remember you need to be the best parent you can be. Good luck It looks like the only way she'd get visitation rights was if she had a court order. |
