Is it possible to reverse an adoption?

I was 11 when my mother passed, my dad remarried & when I was 12, my step-mother adopted me and my siblings w/o our knowledge. They have since divorced and my father has remarried and I am now 40. My father supports me & my siblings who all want to be unadopted so that our mother's name is shown on our b/c. I have been married twice and it hurts that each time I apply for a marriage license, I have to put her name down as my mother and not my actual mother. I have not seen or spoke to her in over 12 years. She is not my mother and I no longer what her associated with me legally either.

you need to talk to a lawyer. your father should of never allowed that to happen. if they do it it could cost you some money. good luck.

I think you would just have to go to court and have her parental rights terminated. It sounds doubtful that she would contest so it should be fairly simple. Just hire a lawyer to file the proper paperwork.

yes if you really want to

You are 40 and your father supports you and your siblings?
