Why dont girls just give babies to adoption?

I haven't seen Juno yet but I really want to,

Its an amazing concept, wait... you mean there are other options for pregnant teenagers, its not a choice between abortion and a ruined life.

why don't they just do this, all the families that can give kids good homes why is this even an issue,

you screwed up, accidents happen, just deal with it for 9 months and then problem solved.

WOW!! You discovered the answer! What's your solution for the high gas prices? Just drive less! But some people need to drive to work and home again. "Just deal with it" is your response, right?

"just deal with it for 9 months and then problem solved".
I'm guessing you have never been around any women during these 9 months. And you probably think that woman who have babies and keep them do so because these 9 months are so much fun. Being a husband around a pregnant wife for 9 months is not always very much fun, either. I've done it 4 times, and I can tell you that what I went through is nothing compared to what she went through for those 9 months.

Whether abortion is right or wrong is besides the point. If a teenage girl gets pregnant, doesn't believe abortion is the right answer, and does not want to keep the child, then your solution is perfect for her. She can "just deal with it for 9 months and then problem solved."

But for now, abortion is a legal choice that not only teenage girls have, but adult women as well. They don't have to "just deal with it for 9 months and then problem solved" if they don't want to. And it's not "la-dee-da. I'm pregnant, so I'll just run off and get an abortion during my lunch hour". It's a very emotional and traumatic experience for most.

I think a better solution would be if they could transplant the fetus into your body, and then you can "just deal with it for 9 months and then problem solved".

some girls do take the adoption road however i have a problem with your last sentience..it is not just deal with it for 9 months and problem solved anybody who has ever carried a baby and then given it up for adoption can tell you that there are lasting psychological effects like "i wonder how the baby is" "oh its his birthday today, i wonder what he looks like , did i do the right thing" but then again i imagine anybody who has had an abortion might have the same what if thoughts

selfishness. They can't live with the thought of their baby loving someone else, or the pain of giving it away, so killing it is a better option.

Susie D. just illustrated my point. "carrying it for 9 months and handing it off to strangers will screw you up a tad."

I'm sorry, that's selfishness. Poor mom bears emotional scars. I'll take those emotional scars over having my brains sucked through a vacuum tube any day of the week. Ya know, that will kind of screw up your day too.

well idk that much but my friend is pregnet right knoe and she does not want the baby but all her friends tell her to have the baby but she say it going not be ok 2 have a baby this young but we tell her she should of thought taht before making the baby and the dad says that she should have the baby and give it to one of her family members but she does not get it yet and we tell her that when the baby is bron some person who cant have babies will take hers and make the ;ittle one have what she cant give the baby so yash you got to work it out

Do not get pregnant in the first place. The problem will never be solved because the mom ALWAYS has to live with the consequences.

For many reasons, such as religious conviction, moral standards, family pressure, or maybe they just love the life that is in them.

Wait......abortion or a screwed up life?

So carrying a child for 9 months then handing it off to strangers wouldn't screw ya up just a tad? Have you ever give birth? Would you have wanted to give your child away?

Abortion is a viable option for teen parents who do not find themselves in the emotional and financial situation to raise a child. Better to abort a fetus than bring an unwanted, unloved child into the world.

Now for my favorite - A ruined life. So, all teen parents are doomed to welfare and misery? Get over yourself. Many do just fine thank you very much.

I have seen both sides of this issue. I have been a teen mother who made the decision to keep my child --- by the way my life is not ruined and I am a strong sucessful, college educated woman. The daughter I gave birth to at 16 is now a college junior herself and doing wonderfully.
I transferred to a teen parent program to speed up my high school graduation and saw three girls give up their babies for adoption. You have no idea the pain these girls went through after that. The heart break of giving up a child.
I also knew one girl who was from my school who elected for an abortion because she knew she couldn't care for a child and did not want to carry a baby to give away to someone else.
All decisions are respectable because they are the best decision that the person can make for themselves.

Well, it could certainly be argued that being pregnant for 9 months and giving up your child is pretty traumatic as well, especially for young mothers and teenagers. There are also millions of children who are waiting to be adopted out there, so it's not quite as simple as you're making it out to be.
