Should I let the custodial parent initiate the adoption process over me pursuing Relinquisging parental right? |
My ex-wife recently remarried and has expressed an interest in her new husband adopting our 3 children. I have been kept from seeing our children due to supervised visitation restrictions which I simply cannot afford to pay for. I see the "handwriting on the wall" that I will not get to see my kids till they are legally able to do so of their free will(18years old). Its just the reality of my situation. I have considered pursuing Relinquishing Parental Rights so the children could be fully adopted, but Im thinking maybe I should put it in the custodial parent's ball park and let them do the legal action/process. Maybe this would be a less costly and wiser way to move forward on this. Any good legal advice about this idea? As a practical matter, it will be entirely at their expense if they initiate it. Your role will simply be to sign the documents. |
