How can I get a copy of my original birth cirtificate?

I was born in1953 at Fort Mac Arthur, in San Pedro, CA. When I was 6 years old I was adopted and the adoption was finalized, thus a new birth cirtificate, with my adoptive parents listed as the parents, was issued. It shows that it was not made until 1959. How can I obtain the original one showing my birth name, birth parents, and possibly my infant footprint?

You have to contact someone at your state capital in the state where you were born.

California

Event: Birth

Cost of copy: $14.00

Address:
Office of Vital Records
Department of Health Services
MS: 5103
P.O. Box 997410
Sacramento, CA 95899-7410

or try this

you have to write to/ call the social security department in CA. They will ask you to prove your identity and you must sent them a payment.. like $20 and they will mail your certificate

Write to the city hall in San Pedro.

You may actually have to contact the adoption agency. Usually someone who wants an original copy can go to the county they were born in and pay a nominal fee to get it. I don't understand why they changed the dates on yours when you were adopted. It all depends on how the adoption was handled. If the birth parents had the records sealed, you may have to go along with your adopted parents and have a judge order them opened. I truly hope you can get what you are looking for, and Good Luck. I hope your life has been a good one, and your happy. !!!

You have to go to the Register of Deeds, and talk with the county clerk, but you need your ID (such as a driver's license) and they may be able to help you out. If you remember what hospital where you were born at, that will help out a lot. Since you were adopted, most likely you need to go to the Register of Deeds, and they should have your birth information.
