Why would people abort!?

what happens if it is your sick twisted father uncle grandfather so on who was raping your 11 year old sister and she got pregnant. Could you honestly justify putting your love on through that kind of torture. I think there are a few reasons to justify this

adoption is something a woman will regret more knowing that her child is alive. trust me.

Adoption requires the woman to actually go through the entire pregnancy. If you could figure out a way to take the fetus from the woman who didn't want it and transfer it to the womb of someone who did, then that would be great.

do not judge untill you have walked in someone elses shoes... there are many different circumstances that make people abort, dont think that you can understand or know what it feels like to be in any of of those.

What is the point of having a baby if its going to cause you hardship? For example, say you fall pregnant and you know for a fact you cant look after the baby and you wont be a good mother at the time (if you were say too young) Then its a responsable thing to say you know what, its not right to bring this child into the world.

I also understand that some people use abortion as some sort of contraceptive, not that i DO NOT agree with at all.

Just understand that before you judge wait till it happens to you often you will believe it something and when it actually happens to you you may think very differently...

Cause some people don't want to have to go through 9 months of being pregnant when it could put their lives on hold.

Should a woman who was raped have to go through 9 months of pregnancy for something that wasn't her fault, have to take time off work to give birth, have to know that she has a child out there with someone that raped her - what would you tell the child when they were older and asked why they were adopted?

It is an individuals right to choose if they have an abortion or not. It's not up to other people to say whats right and whats wrong, and if people put a ban on abortion than many more would die cause things would go back to the ways of the 60's with backyard doctors and abortions.

I think abortion is unacceptable in the instance that you willingly gave yourself to another person to engage in sex. If you are willing to have sex then you should leave the possibility of a child open and not shut the door when you are pregnant. There is such a thing called giving the kid a chance in adoption. The only way i believe abortion is right is if you were raped and are not clearly ready to have a child. These ideas may sound a little conflicting but that's what i believe.

i so totaly hate it when people abort, that baby didn't ask to get here.

i wouldn't consider it murder. i mean when the baby is aborded its at a stage so young that its brain dead and its not like it feels pain. it doesn't feel or thinks anything. i mean in my opintion, its a bad idea but in some cases its necessary. i think it should be ones choice. i mean isnt that what americans about. having the right to make decissions and choices?

What about women who are raped?? Or for other reasons can not go through with a pregnancy?? Accidents do happen and you should never judge a person until you have been in that situation yourself! Do you honestly think it is an easy decision to make for a person? Knowing that you are terminating a life is by no means an easy decision and most women that do have abortions live with the guilt every day of their lives. They don't need anyone else making them feel worse!

It's "alive"? That doesn't automatically make it a person. When I bleed, the blood cells are alive, but they're not people.

There is no way that you can be completely "Pro Life" or "Anti-Abortion"; Here's why:

1) Where do you draw the line and call it destroying a living thing? The question is where does life begin? Are you talking about killing a human being or not giving a human being a chance to live?
6 Months? 3 Months? 1 Month? Is that enough? If you are truly "Pro-Life" then you must oppose all forms of non-procreational sex, protected sex, condoms, birth control, any form of contraception really, "pulling out", masturbation, wet dreams, and even women's Menstrual cycle... because in every one of these instances you have effectively prevented a conception from taking place...

2) A fetus rapidly goes through all stages of evolution in 9 months...from a single cell to a complex being... If you do think its wrong for abortions to happen then you must stop eating fish or chickens or any living things as they too may evolve into a complex being over time.

3) Is abortion justifiable in cases of rape or incest? Or does the woman in question have to live with the shame of mothering the result of possibly the most dehumanizing event of her life?

Footnote: I don't think you should dwell on taking the Bible literally. Even though the 6th Commandment says thou shalt not kill we are at war and people do get killed out there. Take a look at the book of Judges and many parts of the old testament which is full of little/big rules/laws which you couldn't follow and live a productive life at the same time. So instead of taking the Bible literally, be inspired by it and do good unto others.

A fetus in the first trimester is not a person. It is not a human yet -- it has the potential to become one, but some lose that potential and those are miscarriages. If you would like biblical evidence, consider the following. There is a quote that goes "whence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead." Which is to say that the entire range of human existence falls between those two categories. Quick means when a fetus quickens in the womb, which is usually the beginning of the second trimester. Thus, abortion in the first trimester is not murder.

Second -- pregnancy is a major event, both biologically and emotionally. It is not without risks. It is highly inappropriate to force a girl or woman to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term, particularly in cases of incest and other forms of rape.

If a girl or woman chooses on her own to continue the pregnancy, that choice should be available to her, but choice is the key word in this sentence. Carrying a healthy baby to term requires frequent visits to the doctor, and that kind of health care is not always feasible or available. Additionally, there are lots of children waiting to be adopted. Some are in foster care, some are in orphanages and unfortunately, many of these children are abused and unhappy. Some people may not consider adoption a desirable alternative. That choice must be respected as well.

Third, the world is already dangerously overpopulated as it is. Our survival as a species is endangered by our rapidly increasing population. We should not be so desperate to add to this problem.

Finally, every child that comes into come into this world deserves to be loved and wanted. Like it or not, we'd all be better off if this was the case.

Ask yourself this question a few years down the road if your protection fails (I hope it doesn't; I wouldn't sentence someone to have a child at the wrong time in their life, unlike pro-lifers) and you have an "accident". Suddenly you may have a whole bunch of reasons to choose an abortion: you don't want a kid now, you can't take care of one, you want to finish your education first. But your case will be different, of course: you're a good girl who just made a mistake, it was an accident! Not like those clumsy sluts who couldn't keep their legs shut! (/sarcasm) Before you rush to judge, remember other women are in circumstances that you can't even fathom and it isn't your place to judge or condemn.

Rather than rail against abortion, work to make it less needed: comprehensive fact-based sex education, easier access to birth control and sterilization on request. Those two things alone would go a long way to lowering the abortion rate. The best way to get people to make different choices is to expand their options, not limit them. And making abortion illegal again will not magically curb people's desire to have sex or make them want to have the baby.

Besides, until it comes out of the woman's body and is a separate being, it is a part of her to do what she wants with, whether that means flush it out like any other parasite or allow it to grow.

Rape and incest....the only two good reasons I can think of.

If a girl is young and there is no financial support, being the boy/man who made that baby or the girls family; then there is adoption. Or she could pay the price and grow up real quick.
There is also education and public support if needed.
