Prolife or just something you say to feel better about yourself?

People who are pro-life preferably. I am curious of how people feel about "pro-life" When you call yourself a pro-life activists, do you eat animals, do you wear fur or leather? What is your standing on women who have been raped and become pregnant or have a medical condition that could cause them to lose their life if they had to carry a baby to term? What about "un-fit" parents, why should they be allowed to have children when they will neglect/murder/abuse them in the future? What about a woman who became pregnant while on a dangerous medication which will cause birth defects or a woman who conceives a child with mental or physical deformities? Even if women carry their children to term but choose not to keep them do you feel it is best to keep them in some sort of orphanage with no guarantee of adoption (whether it would be a stable home or not)? What about the homeless and starving and diseased children (and adults) already in

the world?! Do we ever consider if we were to change the laws to be pro-life our national stability (whether physically or economically) might resemble something close to that of China (with a population of over 6 million and not enough homes, jobs, etc)?

It's ironic that most "pro-lifers" don't give a damn about the fetus once it's born and actually has a life. They only seem to care about taking away the woman's choice and forcing her to carry a baby she doesn't want. Hence, "pro-life" doesn't seem to fit. I prefer using the term "anti-choice". :]

I will not dignify your position with an answer. You are pathetic.

People that I know who are Pro-Life leaders do eat meat, and consider hunting a sport.
For them it's all about the unborn babies...or are they fetuses...or what exactly are they considered at the time of conception?

I can't answer for anyone else but if the abortion laws existed in 1958 that exist today I wouldn't exist, so I guess you could say that I'm sure glad I'm not dead.

With the exception of a very small number of sociopaths, until
the anti-abortion group co-opted the term, I think everyone would
have said they were pro-life.

I certainly am.

But life is confusing, complex and competitive. I would prefer people
not have abortions if possible. I eat meat (and feel guilty about it).
I understand that sometimes you have to fight back (WW2).

When those who call themselves pro-lifers start getting all upitty,
I do tend to remind them of their usual stance on the death penalty
(which I am against).

Actually your argument is all over the place.

I don't know what I am. I think abortions are horrible and horrific. I'm not sure that I'd want to ban them all, but the current atmosphere that equates an abortion in importance to a wart removal sickens me. I think the life of a child is definitely more important than the life of an animal. In a perfect world, unfit parents should be sterilized...not allowed to become pregnant over and over. As I stated earlier, I'm not sure that ALL abortions should be illegal. There aren't any unadoptable babies. The unadoptable children are those who are taken from unsuitable homes/parents later in life. IF more babies were available, less people would be flying to 3rd world nations to find babies or advertising in newspapers for unwed pregant teens.

It would be easier to answer your questions, in the future, if you would focus a little more and not go in so many directions. It makes it difficult to give more than a short answer to all the many questions that you had...especially as they weren't tied together very well.
*******
There IS a shortage of healthy adoptable babies in this country. People who want to adopt babies are on waiting lists for YEARS...and that's the way it's been for decades now. People go to 3rd world nations in order to avoid the wait....as it is extensive. The mentally ill and the sexually promiscuous probably shouldn't be adopting children.
********
I'm trying to locate an orphanage with baby adoptions in the US and can't even find one. All I can find are many, many attorneys who will help try to either find a pregnant teen who may be willing to adopt out OR to arrange international adoptions of infants. Older children ARE available here in the US. Teenagers are apparently difficult to place.
*******
That is NOT true. It IS true that the best home is selected and the selection process is extensive and difficult. It CAN be as there are far less babies than families willing to adopt. It is much easier to adopt an older child or a troubled child. Gay couples that can't afford the "international" route and are willing to work with a hard to place child are quite often selected as the best available parents. So are single parents. They still must go through a rigorous background check. That is only right. No one wants a child to go to a bad home.

FOR THE TRUTH ABOUT ADOPTION and not endless prattling that is supposed to make some sort of point about abortion, you can check out http://www.adopt.org/. Most children waiting to be adopted are school-aged or in a sibling group that needs to stay together. Many have emotional disabilities; others have physical, mental or developmental disabilities. All need the love of a permanent family.

Many different people can be successful parents. You don't have to own your own home or meet a pre-determined income level to be eligible. Your income may come from employment, a pension, or disability payments. Both members of a couple may work.

Prospective parents are usually in the 25 to 50 year old range, but age requirements can be even more flexible depending on the age of the child. Agencies will consider single and married women and men. Many will consider lesbians and gay men, both singles and couples, and individuals with an unmarried partner. People with disabilities can and do adopt, and their rights are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act. You can be experienced parents with children in your home, be first-time parents, or have grown children.

There is a waiting period for all adoptions. The time frame, like the cost, varies with the type of child being adopted. Children with special needs can often be adopted quickly, within a few months, if the prospective family has a completed homestudy. The wait is typically between two and seven years for a healthy infant.

I totally agree with you, there is so much hypocrisy in peoples beliefs, but unfortunately they just don't see it.
