What are your views on abortion?

I think it should ONLY be allowed if the mothers life is in danger due to the pregnancy. The mother, no matter the age or state she's in should be able to choose whether or not to have the abortion. I also think morning after pills should be allowed to be taken by a mother of any age in any state, if the pregnancy was due to rape/incest.(without a prescribtion) If the mother doesn't want to have the baby, but it isn't going to be a dangerous pregnancy the local hospital, federal goverment, etc, should take the baby. (for adoption) Finally, I think all other forms of abortion, in all states, should be strictly prohibited.

If it isn't your body it isn't your business.

I hate abortion. I will try to use my influence on everyone in my family not to have one.

I also feel, I don't not have the right to enter your home and tell you that your not allowed to have one, though. This is something that is between the individual, their relationship with God and the immediate family along with the clergy... the U.S. government should not have the right to interfere with a private family matter, they've meddled too much into our private lives as it is.

It's time for them to start paying attention to their jobs and leave us alone.

If not illegal, then I'd prefer not to pay for those abortions.

I'd rather pay to see the child(ren) adopted and raised properly. Who knows, maybe we'd see a viable President among the adopted.

-Added: Cindy (below), you are correct. I do not know what it must be like for a woman (at any age) to go through a pregnacy - or not - and then face the results, so perhaps I shouldn't have offered my opinion. I "yield" to your point, but am somewhat saddened by it. I believe life begins at conception - so I am "stuck" with being concerned about abortion and its aftermath - on the woman and on society.

My comment about cost is really not as important as the greater issues - the child, the woman, and also the father. I guess I'm just not smart enough to know the "final answer."

But I do think you misjudged or misunderstood me. If my daughter or granddaughter was involved, I would do whatever necessary to protect her and the child - regardless of cost.

I am sorry I did not communicate my feelings and beliefs. Please forgive.

That as a male, it is none of my business.

I think the decision should belong to the woman in question and no one else.

Unfortunately women will always get abortions and it's safer for them to get an abortion by a trained professional rather than someone with a hanger.

some women need to have one for medical purposes and the others should just abort the idea all together.
My view, but only mine as it is a women's choice and hers alone.

When the government outlaws abortion, women will no longer be free.

I will not tolerate having babies as punishment for couples who could not take care of one. Abortion is allowed no matter how much you guys want to change it or rebel against hospitals.

I understand why the morning after pill was made, but at the same time we are telling our children it is ok to play house and have sex cause there is no consequesces. But there is! I personally think abortion is wrong. Most people are scared to give a real answer. Everyone has their own opinion. I know how it feels to be violated and have to make the decision weather or not to keep the baby. I chose life. Some women are stronger than others in that area. In cases of rape and incest, yes I think the morning after pill should be administrated. Only if it has only been a few weeks after the violation. I can sympothize with some people. I cannot with wreckless ones. If a woman gets pregnant due to neglect of using birth control, I dont think she should be able to have an abortion. We are all put her for a reason. That is my opinion.

Crime is down in cities poverty is down in the cities Why? Not because of no child left behind it's because of abortions. Are you of moderate to middle income. Of course you are or your parents are.Have you ever starved? Do you understand that all people are not like you? Grow up.Abortion is needed now more than ever for people who make mistakes and want and need a second chance. Most abortions are preformed on poverty stricken minorities not girls of middle income with financial means. If all people felt like donating money to help raise orphans not to pay for abortions let them prove it. PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS.

Sometimes I think that the pro-choicers are so pro-choice they will not consider science. They think of the baby as a bundle of cells that has the potential for human life, but isn't yet human. Actually, it takes very little time for the whole body of the fetus to form, and just about as soon as it does, it has nerves that function. Pro-choice people don't like to see pictures of fetal development; they call that 'anti-choice.' Really what it is is that it bothers them.

Nevertheless, I have some problems with outlawing abortion. Here is one of them: most people say that abortion should be allowed in cases of rape or incest, but the fact remains that many rapes go unreported, and obviously incest is often hidden. So, if we outlaw abortion except in these cases, do we require a conviction of the rapist? What proof of incest would be required? And then I fear we would have women giving false testimony in order to get an abortion...Saying they were raped when they were not, and I have MAJOR problems with this idea, because I think that true rape victims are often not believed, and if there were an increase in women saying they had been raped when they had not, then true rape victims might be presumed to be lying when they were telling the truth.

As a mother who adopted a child, I am definitely for adoption!! Adoption has been a tremendous blessing for our family, and I have the utmost respect for my child's birthmother.

We adopted internationally, for one reason because in the U.S. there are about 400 families wanting to adopt for each infant born. People talk about how many unwanted children there would be if we outlawed abortion, but that is not the case...There would be less heartache by families who want babies!

Another thing about abortion...I think the fact that it is out there gives a sort of license to a certain lifestyle...Like, I can have relations whenever I want, because if my birth control fails, I can always get an abortion. If that choice weren't so easily accessed, people might have to look at their lifestyles to decide if it were worth the risk. And this would be a good thing, I think, because people should have a low number of sex partners - over their lifetimes - that is the healthiest and of course Biblical - the best being 1 only, your spouse.

I wish that adoption were spoken of more in the schools. I hate to think of teenagers abandoning babies to die. Also, adoption is SOOOO not a big deal, although on TV it's made out to be: I have a biological child and an adopted child, and they are both the joys of my life. People make adoption out to be "second-best," but that's just not the case. I think it may be like the difference between a vaginal delivery and a c-section; it doesn't matter how you got the child; you love it the same!

Abortiion is murder. their is absolutely no reason ever for a woman to have an abortion.

I'm not a fan of abortion, but I believe every woman should have a right to choose what is right for herself, and her body.

I don't think men (sorry guys) have a right to make decisions about a woman's rights when it comes to pregnancy or abortion, until they themselves can carry a child inside their bodies and give birth to it.

I bet if men could 'get pregnant' the laws would be different, and abortion would no longer be a topic of discussion. (especially in politics)

What would you do if the government and your society was able to make decisions about whether men, who got women pregnant, and were not married to that woman, should be castrated? What if women were allowed to vote on those decisions that affect you? How would you feel? It's not quite the same, but it does personalize the scenario a bit more, so you can understand.

You are a man what's it to you?

I have seen the victims of forced parenthood in foster care. These victims who were born to mothers as young as 13 years old are pitiful. Abortion was never an option that I could consider, but I would never want that option withdrawn for others.

I applaude you wdoui--

inthebiz---you are probably the first one complaining about the 14 year old mothers on welfare. And if they go on welfare that young, they are rarely able to ever come off public assistance. What you don't get is the hormonal state of the young mother after giving birth. They want their baby even if they can't actually take care of it. As a woman I understand their misguided need.

Abortion is a pagan sacrifice of a human life to the goddess Artemis.
