Do you think Abortions is Wrong?? Some view It as killing a human being. What are the ethical issues of it?

Abortion is an issue that can't really be paint blac or white, but a grey issue. What are the ethical issues of Abortion? Does Religion determine for you if abortion is wrong/right? When does the law count when you really look at the idea of murder? if you can give views of why u think it is wrong and isn't please note them. If you strongly beleive so feel free to state you're opinion about this Huge issue..What about Adoption? My teacher said that some mothers that have been raped feel that even if the rapist have no commonality, it just cahnges the mothers view and feel they need to keep it more. I dunno- How do you feel about this idea ??

I firmly believe in population control. We do not need more people on this planet, I do not believe the fetus is sentient and I believe if you want to, you should get an abortion. I believe people need to adopt more rather than putting more people on this planet.

Religion does not influence my beliefs on abortion. We kill people all the time around here, we do executions, health insurance companies deny payment which condemns many people to death. Death and dying are a normal part of the human condition.

Homo Sapiens Sapiens are animals just like any other on this planet we are not more special than anything else around here. Just because we have a high brain encephalization does not make us better or worse than any other animal on this planet. We need to control our population before we consume all of the resources on this planet.

no

ABORTION IS WRONG. AND YES EVEN IF YOU ARE RAPED.

WHAT WRONG WITH GIVING UP THE CHILD, THERES NO NEED TO KILL.

AND FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO JUST ACCIDENTALLY BECAME PREGNANT ITS YOUR OWN F*** FAULT.

ok, normally i was never prochoice, the only reason i am now is cuz of my aunt. she was pregnant and super happy, then she had cancer and the doctor said either she does no chemo and dies after giving birth and the baby dies b4 its like 1 month old, or she has an abortion and has chemo and theres like an 80% chance survival rate for her and MAYBE she might be able to have another one. so she had no choice, she didnt wanna make the baby suffer, so she had to get an abortion. but this was a medical reason..but as for the girls who go out and screw everyone they know, i dont believe they should abort, ya **** happens but thats not ur baby's fault. its urs, and u have to accept ur consequence. its ur son/daughter ur killing. its ur own blood. dont kill it cuz of one mistake, accept ur consequences people, this is why God made condoms!!!!

it was illegal once and woman were closehangering themselves

i personally think it is bad for your soul to abort a child, but think if another believes differently they should have the right to have a different religion,,,

Religion basically says scratching your butt is wrong.

Religion says being gay is un natural and wrong, when that's bull crap. Religion says believe or you will burn in hell. Point being don't let relgion tell you what to believe.

I view abortion as killing - it may not be a life yet (even though i think it is) But imagine what life they could lead.

BUT, Just because I believe abortion is wrong for ME, doesn't mean I will judge people who have them themselves.

What is right for one person, may not be right for another.

the real question is when does life begin? when does a person become a human being with rights? Hmmm?

It is a great waste most of the time, as it could be avoided.

However, since even the church has had shifting ideas on abortion, it gets muddied even more

Killing is a sin...plain and simple...and it is a painful death for the baby and a mentally torturing one for the mother. End of subject.

see i am pro life but then you think and you then are like i am pro choice because i think if a girl is raped she can but why not just have the baby and adopt it you know what i mean and some religions are like that my church makes sure every one is pro life
it depends on what you believe but it this way what if you have an abortion and what if that kid was to be the next president or the next person to do something good in this world what if it is the person gad made to cure cancer and aids and all that stuff do you get my point

If you have an abortion it is like killing a human. IT IS killing a human. And yes the bible does say so in Exodus 21 and im sure in many other places. But not just the bible. When you see the baby you just want it, it gives you joy. Thats one reason why doctors don't let the women see her baby if she gives it up for adoption. And the whole reason to abort a baby is because your having it without wanting it in the first place (wedlock.) Its sad... Please don't abort a precious soul..

I have written many papers and gave many speaches on this topic. My wife is a high risk labor and delivery nurse. Having said that, she sees some of the worst cases that you can imagine in childbirth. This is just in Indiana....
I think that the only time it should be used for birth control is for rape victims....For women who seem to cant keep their legs closed, well I think that the state should pay for Hysterectomies. (Their cheaper than welfare children). Past that, I think that it shoud be up to the family..
I am a pro choice select, and primarily its because if I ever had to make the choice of saving a child or saving my wife.... I would pick my wife 100 times over.
I think God would understand.

abortion on principle i do not think is wrong. life does not start until the life-bearer has the ability to exhibit life-qualities. the most important of these in this circumstance are the will to live and the ability to express it. a fetus can not be shown satisfactorily (without over-interpreting) to fulfill these qualities.

many will disagree. but i think its the reasoning that matters.

I don't think abortion is wrong. When it's done very early in the term the fetus is not yet formed. It is just a bit of tissue. Also it does not state anywhere in the Bible that abortion is wrong.

I also don't think that late term abortions are wrong because they are only done in extreme circumstances when either the mother's life, the baby's life, or both are at risk.

Most religion already view it as wrong. If a women is pregnant and is murdered it is counted as 2 PEOPLE killed. But, even when abortion happens, its not counted as murder in court (loop hole). Personally my opinion is that abortion is wrong. Women who have gone through abortion have regretted it. Even birth-control pills are a form of abortion. About 75+ percent of people who use birth-control pills stop using it afterwards. There have been cases where the arm of the fetus grows. I could see how women who have been raped to go with an abortion, but there are people willing to adopt those babies. The is no such thing as an unwanted baby. Some people spend $5000 to adopt a baby and are waiting in line for them. When the sperm reaches the egg, life is already determined. Every DNA and cell in the baby is formed. The is technology where it can see the baby and how it looks like 3 days after.

To each his own. Many women (and many men) argue that it's a woman's choice and that it's not right for the government to interfere.

A woman who is contemplating getting an abortion may be doing it for a number of reasons. Condom broke. No contraceptive was used, but she either doesn't want the baby, or is too young, or was acting irresponsibly that one time, or is worried about backlash from her family or friends.

The one way I stand by abortions for sure is if a woman is raped and decides to do so. Under no circumstances would I ever try to talk someone out of it if they would have to deal with seeing and raising a kid every day that was a reminder of something so painful as rape.

I'm pro-choice, but also know that a lot of women feel a wide range of emotions after abortion. Sometimes extreme guilt. You can't predict how you'll feel.

In the case with a couple, it is always best to talk to your partner first before doing so, because it is just as much their kid as the woman's.

I don't think it's right or wrong, just a choice. I don't think religion should take too much of a stance in the decision. Say someone is following strictly religious values but doesn't have the money or resources to raise a kid. In that case it is wrong.

Someone could also give the child up for adoption, but that is again a choice. If they did decide to, there is also the aspect to think about that we already have a rate of overpopulation in this country, assuming you are talking about America.

Bottom line, I say it is a personal choice. But of course many will argue and have a different opinion than me. It's a sensitive subject, so of course I don't claim to have THE only opinion. I respect differences of opinion, especially on a matter like this.

I personally think abortion isn't a bad thing, consider the point made of a woman getting raped, now also realize that not everyone in this world is in a good financial situation. We can't be naive enough to think that every rape victim is in a good enough financial and mental point to raise a child. As for all the people who think abortion is murder, we have to take note of the thousands of people that have died in far worse ways due to unnecessary choices made by our government and for some reason THAT is acceptable, however if you still think abortion is bad keep thinking that way, sooner or later people will start taking notice that there are too many kids dying AFTER birth anyways, too many children starving, too many orphanages overcrowding, and too many families left poverty-stricken.as far as the bible goes, there's a story in there of two girls having sex with their father and God doesn't punish them for it..........still want to play by the bible's rules?

Well, it's very hard for me to take a concrete stance on this issue. Not because I don't want to offend anyone, I don't care if I do or don't. Truth be told, I'm not a doctor. I'm ignorant when it comes to the medical field. Which is why I get so urked when I hear strong stances from either side of the fence, most don't know much of anything about life.

I have no idea when life actually begins. I refuse to pretend to know. When we get concrete evidence on when life begins, and not a bunch of "maybe here, maybe there" talk, I'll have a stance on it. But for now, 99% of those with an opinion on it are speaking out of subjective, emotional criteria.

Pro-choice here. Guess what, the law gives me the right to do so if I CHOOSE. If it was murder there would be no law that allows it. Peace out!

In some cases I believe the issue is black and white, however, like you mentioned, there can be a gray area.

I've never liked the idea of abortion even before I became a Christian, so my beliefs are not necessarily because of my faith. I believe that there is "life" as soon as the egg is fertilized. Just like a plant- as soon as the seed is fertilized and begins "life" and starts to grow it's seen as alive. Isn't it?

Abortion as a form of birth control (you didn't want to get pregnant but continued to have unprotected sex) is simply wrong. It is murder, in my opinion. I've known people and had friends that have made this choice, and I would kindly let them know that life is not created for no reason. I would try and persuade them to make a different choice, but ultimately the decision is theirs.

Abortion after rape is a bit more touchy, in my opinion. I would have no idea what I would do in this case. I suppose I'd really have to turn to my faith and my trust in God on this one if I were to ever be raped. It's a horrible mis-justice for any woman to have to even make this decision because some man violated her!

Either way, I believe love should be shown to any woman considering abortion. Most women are probably scared and not sure what they should do. As a Christian I would try my hardest to persuade them to think a bit longer on it. It's not a decision that simply goes away after the procedure-- no, it stays with you forever.

As for the law, I have to defend my thoughts and say that it is wrong to kill a human being, and thus, wrong to have an abortion. I don't presume to be able to completely understand just how difficult a decision abortion is for any woman. I wish there was a simple answer, but there really isn't...not one that everyone would agree with at least.

~~ADDED~~
I just read about a lady who had to make a decision either to abort her child or die from cancer soon after the baby was born. Again, wow that would be a hard one. I can't possibly see it as a selfish decision. This situation would also belong in that gray area. Yes, it's still a life that is being extinguished, but a medical reason for abortion is quite a difficult decision.

I'm not a woman nor do I tell another adult what to do regarding their own body. I mind my own business.
Is that a problem? If so, it isn't my problem.

You are absolutely right, abortion is a huge issue in today's society. I believe abortion is wrong because you're killing a human being. Last time I checked first degree murder is a felony in the U.S. If you think about having an abortion, be honest with yourself and ask if you really want to kill another human being. Some of the ways abortions are being done is just absolutely horrific. There have been cases where a baby is being aborted by the delivering doctor jabbing a pair of scissors in the baby's head after it's been born. What the pro-abortion lobbyists don't want you to know is that women eho have had abortions are more likely to have extreme cases of depression and in some cases, suicide. Here is some thing interesting. In an American Journal of Psychiatry, a study of five hundred post abortive women found that 43 percent had immediate negative emotions due to the experience. Also, 10 percent of the women reported they had encountered serious psychiatric complications. A pschiatrist noted "that since abortion was legalized, I have seen hundreds of women who had the procedure. Approximately 10 percent expressed little or no concern. Among the other 90 percent, there were all shades of anxiety, distress, heartache, and sorrow. Another study found that suicide rates for women who had the operation are significantly higher than those who delivered the child to term. You cannot possibly tell me that there is nothing wrong with abortion. If you are for aborton you need to go have a psyche test done. I have no sympathy for women who get this procedure done.

Abortion is a special circumstance in which one can argue its right and its not. I think it really depends on the issue at hand

The only thing i will say is that everyone mentions adoptions. You can adopt...Why have an abortion? Well the truth is that its just not that easy. There are so many neglected and unadopted children. They are put into foster care and go from family to family. Sometime is works out other times it doesnt. Its not as easy as saying just put them up for adoption. By doing that you are also just contributing to another problem. Im not saying go have an abortion,

but government should have a stonger say not in whether abortion is right or wrong, but in sex education. Teaching kids about safe sex or even waiting to get married until having sex.

WE NEED TO STOP DEBATING OVER ABORTION AND INSTEAD FOCUS ON PREVENTING PREGNANCIES.

HOW TO STOP HAVING ABORTIONS.....PRACTICE SAFE SEX!!!

I answered this same question not long ago and got a bad mark for it. Abortion.....no matter whose body it is or for what reason of conception....is killing a human being, therefore in my eyes making it murder. If you don't want to be a parent, use protection. In the matter of conception from rape...carry until birth and put the baby up for adoption. I just don't understand why someone can say "It's my BODY, and my choice". Ok, then can you say "It's my CHILD and my choice" if you kill a 3 year old? We all know the answer to that! Come on folks, it's flat out manslaughter!

i think abortion is great. then again i am pro euthanasia.

1) Regardless of anyone's stance on the issue, it is strictly a moral, often religious based issue that government should NEVER have a say in.
2) Men need to shut up about the whole abortion issue because they can never begin to fully comprehend what women go through during pregnancy or abortion. So no man should ever tell a woman what she can and can not do with what is involving her body.
3)To all the adoption supporter: there are MILLIONS of children rotting away in orphanages all over the world as it is. And 2nd, roughly 2 million abortions are carried out every year. If abortion was non-exsistant, our economy would collapse. There's just no way to support that type of population growth.
4)Women have reasons for getting abortions, it's just not something they do on a saturday night for fun.
5)the ethical issues: where do you believe life begins? is it murder or not because of that opinion? and do you preserve a new life or the life that is already living?

Is abortion wrong..........? (my opinion) Yes!!!!
Abortion "is" a simple as black and white. You can have your baby or have an abortion.
The infamous "Grey" area is society's way of justifying the taking of a life. Another shade of Grey is a mans opinion re. the issue. Some men feel it's a woman's body, it is her choice. In some instances I can't help but interpreter that to mean "let her deal with it." It's an easy out. They can walk away. To be fair to men of that opinion, they have no concept of how it feels to have a life growing inside of them or the ramification both mentally and physically an abortion may have on a woman possibly for the rest of her life.
As far as a persons religion (depending on your beliefs) in the end it's just you standing in front of God. It doesn't matter what the "LAW" (man's law) says you can do. There will not be a group of Pro-choice advocates next to you. No banners reading "My body my choice."
Victims of rape experience one of the most horrific crimes a person can commit. What a victim has to contend with after such a violent event is beyond my comprehension. I couldn't even begin to have an opinion.

As I stated in the beginning This is "MY" opinion. I don't have a heaven or hell to put anyone in. It is not my place to judge anyone. That job is already taken.
