Why is an abortion so easy to get?

Although I think abortion should remain legal, I think it should be harder to get one. All you need is $500. Some girls use it as their only form of birth control. There are many states in which a girl under 18 doesn't even have to have her parents permission. [You can't even get your EARS peirced without parental consent.] Maybe there should be mandatory counseling before and after. Before to go throught he options in handling an unwanted pregnancy (adoption and so forth). And then after to deal with emotional effects of the abortion. What do you think?

The debate is always keep it legal, or make it illegal. I just think that there could be a happy medium by changing the laws that surround abortion.

if it was hard, women and girls would go to underground clinics, secret places or somewhere where they can get one. its the law of supply and demand. plus the medical consequenses of a backroom abortion could be devastating. at least clinical is safe. who knows what could happen in an uncertified environment. also, clinical provides JOBS, AND THEY MAKE A TON OF MONEY. just like cigarettes or alcohol, if they know they can kill you why is it legal, simple--MONEY AND JOBS. lobbyists for these groups donate to politicians to get legislation in their favor. money talks. if abortion was illegal all the clinics, doctors, nurses, support staff would be unemployed and have to find another job, not good for the economy. thats why they don't shut down big business, tobacco farmers would be devastated and the grain farmers, distillers, and distributors would have no job. it all about money, politics and keeping your job and the government getting the TAX DOLLARS generated from these enterprises. its sad but thats the system governments use to generate revenue

Its not that easy though, I lived in a state where there wasn't one clinic that performed abortions (they now have one). Report It

I think that is always easier to find faults in the lives of others than to use the same energy to clean up one's own act.
If everyone would stop trying to get the mote out of another's eyes, they would more clearly see the log in their own.

I personally don't agree with abortion. Its basically like grinding up a little baby.

Anyway, the easiness of getting them is the purpose of freedom of choice. Offer the counseling, if they want it they want it if they dont they dont.

Do hospitals make you take manditory parent classes when you are pregnant?......

For political reasons

Because the liberals have screwed everything up.

I respect mothers who do abortions. They are mature enough to realize they cannot raise the child. Would you rather have a dead fetus or a young person who turns to a life of crime because his mother couldn't support him and he had a crappy childhood leaving deep emotional and psychological scars? An unwanted unaborted child could cause a whole lot of trouble in society.
So I'm definitely pro choice.

it depends on the country you are in. i am currently in senegal and abortion is not legal here. most girls still find their way arround to do it though but is expensive to have one done here (200dollars) and is a poor african country.

i am a nigerian and even if its illegal there is the cheapest thing u can get done even if u are not 18 without no ones consent (30dollar and above) but is very risky too becos most of them are quake doctors who just use this as a means of living.

so if is 500dollars in ur country, i see it as expensive enough to get ladies out of it, i could do a lot of shoping with that and have some new looks afterwards.

counselling will do too and sex awareness programs will help ease this young adults on sex and it effects. alot of parents and adults still dont feel comfortable in answering this young ones when it comes to such issues.
condoms should be less expensive and if possible free, other pills for contraceptic purposes i dont trust cos of its side effects and issues that arises when u want the baby afterwards.

I defintily think that abortion should be legal. I do think that there should be a certain process of counceling etc. which you have to go through before enabeling you to have an abortion. This way it will not be an "easy way of birthcontrol" but it can also be assured that the mother really needs the abortion and is aware of the great implications of her decision. It will also help with the emotional effects of post-abortion.
I personally would not be able to have an abortion but if you look at the greater picture you have to see what the implications of making abortions illegal would be. First of all it is silly to think that making abortions illegal would prevent abortions from happening. They will still exist just now by illegal and mainly unsafe means - so what would happen is that not only would the potential life of the child be lost but in many cases the life of the mother as well. (I know from experience my cousin had a back-alley abortions since she knew her father would beat her to death if he would find out she was pregnant and she died cause the 'doctor' used unsafe equibment)
Also it is important to see that in some cases a mother will just realize that at this stage in life she could not have a child and be a good mother. We live in a society where messed up families - teenage mother etc create a huge social problems because their children when growing up do not get the emotional and social as well as educational support a human being needs when growing up. Abortion is a - sad- but effective way of trying to prevent such situation.
So generally i think abortion is a way far from ideal and should be prevent as much as possible, but sometimes it really is the only or best way to deal with a situation.

Abortions have always been an alternative to having a child. In primitive societies there are always older women who knew(know) how to accomplish it.

Abortion only becomes a public issue when certain members of a society try to force their own personal judgments of behavior on everyone. It is these hypocrite that make personal issues public and political.

In the US abortions were made legal so that doctors and not untrained amateurs could perform them and thereby save lives. If they weren't(aren't) easy to get, the results are more death and destruction of women who find themselves pregnant and know they can't, for whatever personal reasons, be responsible for bringing a child into the world.

Women who find themselves in this position are to respected for making horribly difficult decisions and then commiting to live with the results, whichever way they decide. Taking away their choice will harm them more and longer than letting them have it. When anyone loses their freedom to choose anything, society is the ultimate looser.

i think its wrong
