we are in nevada.a judge terminated parental rights of the boys father 4 years ago.we have the paperwork to prove it (he never showed up)he hasnt been in their lives since 99 can he still appeal that decision after so long?we are a happy healthy little familywe are getting married and I plan to adopt them.legally does he have a leg to stand on?my fiances worried he might try something.thank you for all your help

Only he can terminate his rights. Unless he terminated his parental rights - legally - he CAN appeal. If a judge terminated the father's parental rights you will need the paper work signed by the judge to prove that the court terminated his rights.

I had my daughters biological fathers rights terminated in court by a judge. My understanding is that once that was done he no longer had any legal rights to them at all. I even received new birth certificates for them with his name removed. I don't believe he has any appeal rights either. My new husband adopted them and it was very easy.
