How to find free legal assistance?

for adoption. my friend's husband wants to adopt her child from a previous relationship. All parties are willing, however, the father is leaving town and wants this done in the next 2 weeks. once he moves, he wants no contact. neither parties have a lot of money right now for this. i know there are places that offer that kind of services pretty cheap if not for free, but how does someone even go about finding them?? any suggestions would be helpful.

Try the National Legal Aid and Defender Assoc.

Check your state for Pro se Legal help. Because of the increase in pro se cases of this nature, many states have recognized the need for Pro se legal help centers. Also you can go to your local courthouse for information.

1. Look in Search Engine or Phone Book
2. Legal Aid is what you want

3. Try to be more realistic ... you will probably go on a waiting list behind a million people with more serious needs than yours ... I can't see this being completed in as microscopically a short time as 2 weeks, but you might get lucky

4. Look in Search Engine
5. Legal Forms is what you want ... paperwork to make the plans legal, that can be signed by all parties

6. Look in Search Engine
7. Notary Republic is what you want .... this is a person who witnesses the signatures of people on legal forms to make it all legal ... the cost for this service will be very small, like $ 25.00 maybe at the most

8. Good Luck
