Has anyone successfully avoided Admiralty Jurisdiction by not traversing into it and remaining soverign? |
How to not be sucked into the numbering system of of commerce and be free from their slavery. Congress has federal jurisdiction over navigable waterways. The federal courts have original jurisdiction over admiralty, which is basically the federal law of torts for shipping. If you operate or own shipping on the ocean, a major river or the great lakes, you would be subject to admiralty jurisdiction. The average person has no contact with admiralty.
