Help! bullying boss or am I the rule breaker?

I am an older woman whose worked in the retail and management field for nearly 20 years. My boss in 20 yrs my jr and I find that she is a bully. Not real mean way but indirect. I transferred from a different location but same store to be closer to home. When she first interviewed me, it was more of a "look at me I've made it big" type of interview. At that time I casually stated where I would like to go in the company with my background. I took in the interview as slightly odd, but thought nothing of it at the time. I've been at this store for nearly 2 months and in that time she has called me in the office for what I would call "bully" write-ups. I have gone along with the bullying, but I am at my end. It has come to head and I am seriously wanting to quit, but I have always stood my ground to not let anyone make me do anything I did not want to do. At the moment I am on administrative leave--due to me clocking in 17 mins early. What to do?

Simple...... the little girl knows that w. your experience you are a threat. You know "how it works" and could do her job in a heartbeat. She does not know how to handle you as she knows in her heart you could turn it all around...... she has no management skills so it is easier for her to boss around younger people.

Go right over her head and speak to whatever regional person there is. You love the company, want more, are willing to do what it takes, etc. No mention of your boss. Then when this manager needs to justify why you are not right it will not look right for her. You as an adult can relate and bottomline it w. the bigger bosses.

Odds are you are really good at what you do and others look up to you. That is why she is doing this. You have to get a bit mean.

Simple. Go to her immediate superior. It sounds like this woman has some serious ego and power issues. Take it up with her boss in a professional manner.

Dont know what your company policy is but havent heard of people getting in trouble for clocking in early,,,maybe so if you clocked in and didnt go to work than that could be a problem,,,if the wright ups are mostly BS,,than you would have to prove that by knowing that another person/persons have done same thing and nothing happened to them,,,if that is the case than she is creating an hostile enviroment and that is illegal,,,but like I said this would be hard to give a good answer without knowing your company policies and such,,,how long have you been with this company,,,you could call some people you know from where you came from and see if the could help you or point you in the right direction.

poor business tacts I won't like to be in your shoes. It's does happen.
Worked with a young girl that had many issues even when management talk to her she still played.
Poor management some where along the line. Especially, when they don't wana deal with it.

Best of luck
